Buffalo Veterans Hospital Patients Possibly Exposed To HIV, Hepatitis.

January 16, 2013

The Buffalo VA Medical Center has acknowledged that diabetic patients may have been exposed to HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C as a result of the hospital reusing insulin pens only designed to be used once.  Exposed veterans may be entitled to bring a medical malpractice claim under the Federal Tort Claims Act.

The hospital has admitted that 716 patients may have been exposed over approximately two years.  It became aware of the problem on November 1, 2012, but did not disclose it to anyone for nearly two months.

We believe that our veterans deserve the highest level of medical care and the highest level of legal care.  If you or a family member has been harmed by this reuse of insulin pens, we would be happy to answer any questions you have regarding your legal rights.  Our number is 716-400-0000 or click on the chat button at the top of this page.
